Gökova-Akyaka
Gökova-Akyaka is our nearest seaside resort. You can reach it from Mugla in a so-called dolmus (mini-bus) in 25 minutes. As you go down the winding road you enjoy glorious views of the Bay of Gökova-Akyaka.

In Akyaka there are no huge hotel complexes, such as we know in other tourist centres. The houses also have been built deliberately in the traditional style of the country. This already gives the village its own unique atmosphere.

For those seeking relaxation and for nature lovers Akyaka is just the place. Night life with the noise of discotheques and bars until early morning is not found here. In 1988 the region around Akyaka was declared a nature reserve. The biotope directly by the harbour and the woodland right by the sea invite walking and relaxing.

Also special is the little river called Kadin Azmak (women's pool). It springs from the nearby mountains, which are up to 1000 m high. The water is crystal clear and cold even in the height of summer. The river goes right through the reedy area (biotope) and can be navigated with canoes and small boats.

Restaurants and hotels of modest size line the beach promenade. You can sit cosily in one of these, have some food or drink and meanwhile enjoy a glorious sunset.

In the harbour of Akyaka you can watch the fishermen unloading their daily catch, or you can see them cleaning and mending their nets. There are also various excursions by boat on offer from the harbour to interesting places

As you have to go a long way out to sea to get into deeper water, the beach at Akyaka is also ideal for families with children. But there are also lovely places and secluded bays for those who prefer peace and quiet!

Further excursion destinations nearby include the eucalyptus avenue in the direction of Marmaris, as well as some rock graves from the 4th century BC.

The best thing is just to come and see the beauties for yourself!
